Amália's Lisbon — Queen of Fado Tour

A private half-day following the voice that made the world listen — from the alley where she was born to the Pantheon where Portugal laid her to rest.

1

Mouraria — where it all began

She was born here in 1920, in the neighborhood that gave birth to fado itself — the “Ai Mouraria” she turned into forever.

2

Alfama & the fado taverns

The alleys where a teenager from the Mercado da Ribeira sang before the radio made her the voice of a nation.

3

Casa-Museu Amália — her home for 48 years

Guided visit (Tue–Sat) to the yellow house on Rua de São Bento: shawls, jewels, awards and the garden — everything exactly as she left it in 1999. Entry ~€7, optional.

4

A life fit for a queen

From her house next to Parliament to the cafés where kings and presidents came to hear her — the Lisbon that bowed to a seamstress's daughter.

5

Jardim Amália Rodrigues

The hilltop garden above Parque Eduardo VII, with its peaceful pond and the best panorama of the city she sang about.

6

National Pantheon — the queen's rest

Where Portugal laid her among kings and poets in 2001; the terrace view alone is worth the climb.

Optional extras not included: Casa-Museu entry (~€7, Tue–Sat) and an evening fado-house show in Alfama to end the day with saudade. Touring Lisbon is an independent operator celebrating Amália's legacy.
